GI appointment run down. and feet

welp the ever anticipated GI appointment has come and gone. there was some good information and a new plan of action as a result. there was also a "weigh in" done that showed that while Ben has gained weight, he has dropped from his average, trending percentile from 75th to 50th in weight (still 75th in height). This weigh in was on a different scale than the pediatrician, but they also weighed him in a wet diaper- which the pediatrician never does. so i'll be interested in seeing the weight next week. It is also my goal to pack in the calories in this child this coming week too.

the new plan consists of a different type of medication, kind of. It's still a PPI, but a different brand and it is a "suspension" so the pharmacy puts it together just as the doctor asks which enables them to leave out anything necessary (like lactose - in case Ben is sensitive). So that will be started today.

Other parts of the plan consist of making his formula thicker than we have been with organic (Earth's Best) rice cereal. Now that he is 4 months, I am a lot more comfortable with adding more rice cereal and hopefully it will weigh the formula down enough in his tummy. Also the doctor said we can try a small amount of mylanta (or similar) during his "episodes" to see if that will help him finish a bottle. We tried this for the first time today... not sure if it helped- but he didn't hate the taste of it (cherry), so that was good.

and so we wait. wait to see if any of these things help. hope and pray for improvement in eating, calorie intake, sleeping, and general overall happiness. pray with me, will you?

in other news...

Ben seems to have found his feet. After taking a nap, in just his onesie and socks, this is what I walked into:

I thought it was hilarious. Those definitely started out on his feet. When he is on his back now (watching TV typically ha), he finds his feet too. It's cute. Im sure soon enough he'll be sticking them into his mouth since that is what he does with everything else he gets his hands on.
