part of the reason i don't blog a lot is because i wait until there is some sort of event or something to blog about... like a holiday, an engagement, birthday... etc. i need to get more into the habit of just blogging, about days- no matter how boring that may be, it'll at least make it look like i have a more interesting life right? the more you blog the more exciting your life is? well that's what i'm going for.
[mcdonalds] the other day i was going through the mcdonalds drive thru in mclean. for some reason recently (except today of course) traffic has been pretty mild so i have been getting to mclean (where i work) a lot earlier than usual... so i have stopped at the mcdonalds there instead of my usual stop off 606.... first off a large coke from mcdonalds is an addiction of mine... i love fountain sodas and like caffeine in the morning, so there are weeks that i go through the drive thru every day (shhh don't tell joey...) So i believe this was last Monday i rolled through the drive thru ... my work doesn't require professional dress unless clients are in the office so i was in jeans a black shirt scarf with hair in a ponytail- scrubish (apparently), i was tired. Anyway, the mcdonalds in Mclean has these two guys that work in the drive thru together that just seem like they get into trouble together.. but i digress... so i went through the drive thru.. no big deal. Tuesday. i tried a little harder in the morning to look nice. got through the drive thru and to these two guys... the 1 takes my credit card and does a major, obvious double take and stares at me, smiles and giggles then asks me how i am. it was HILARIOUS. i mean was i not just there the DAY BEFORE?? and they acted like i was some sort of mini celebrity this time... so again, Wednesday - similar effort in the morning for dressing/doing hair, and they recognize me again- smile, giggle, and say "see you tomorrow!"... and i just really had to laugh. i had to laugh because i, the same person, went through the drive thru 2 days prior with completely different treatment... i go through again apparently looking way better (although i didn't realize i looked that scrubish on Monday) and i get totally different treatment. so maybe this story isn't that funny to you, but i literally laughed out loud.
*Moral of the Story: Look Pretty and you get treated nicer. OK OK i know that's horrible but apparently true, and really a look into our society and the intense pressure it puts on looks... Daniel Chapter 1 - Babylon.... We are living in a current Babylon...again. i digress.
**disclaimer: i hate telling stories about when guys "hit on me" but this one was too funny not to share. but really hate stories like that so i do apologize.
[max] my little baby. poor guy, ever since Christmas he has been scratching and itching and growing bald spots on his body that are scabbed and dry (i think this sounds a lot worse than it is)... anyway, he has been scratching so badly that at night he shakes the whole bed and wakes me up/makes me anxious.. so we went to the vet. Max hates the vet. He shakes and whines and cries, its horribly sad but necessary. So while there we get his heartworm test done, they test for mites, and other things and he is on the table shaking like a baby with 4 people in the room.. of course they say it is probably allergies and it could be anything so they just give us something to treat treat the symptoms.. which of course is not a generic and of course we don't have pet insurance, but of course we buy it. again. he is my little baby, i would pay $$$ to heal him. so this story is pretty anti-climatic but just an update. the meds seem to be really helping and hopefully his hair will start growing back... particularly around his butt. i'd post a picture but don't want to embarrass him.
[the general] currently bible study is on wednesdays, not allowing me to watch the 2nd 1/2 of the American Idol tryouts. last night i missed the below audition. It is just too good not to share. Please Enjoy: pants on the ground.
well. i hope that wasn't too boring. i appreciate it if you made it this far. pat yourself on the back.
