toddler town

yikes. i've been a bad blogger. and i really want to be a consistent blogger. sadness.

at first i battled the "if i blog every day people are going to think i don't do anything", so i refrained myself.

then i battled the "should i start grammar checking and capitalizing my 'i's and stuff from now on? but then all my past posts aren't like that, they're all over the place, and i kind of like it that way" so i couldn't decided and didn't blog.

now i am battling the toddler. and that is a battle that he is winning. daily. he has been sick recently, for a good 10 days at least and on top of that has quite a strong will and is stubborn as a mule. our days consist of trying to get him to eat something that isn't yogurt, taking him off the couches, chairs, and anything he can climb on because he's fallen off one too many times, coaxing him away from max's food and water bowls, and more.

we have began spanking (gasp!), and really trying to be consistent - HARD. but man can this boy fight and throw a tantrum. screams, stomping his feet (this makes it hard not to laugh), and has even recently flung himself on the ground seriously banging his head... i'm not sure how "that shows me" but i hope it showed him not to do that again.

anyway, with the sickness came a lack of napping and that is my only free time in the day. and when he did nap i just wanted to veg out and relax to muster up more strength to 'fight the man' (that is an 18 month old boy). oh, and i've also been sick. and so has the father of this child. if you look at our house right now you miiiight think we've been robbed. twice.

so i still don't understand those mom bloggers who are so good at this. although they are probably superwomen and get up early or go to bed late. right now i don't do either of those things. I get up with Ben and bedtime is.. well...embarrassing.

so hopefully i'll be blogging again soon. this whole post happened in a matter of 10 minutes as i let little man play in the bath, but he's over that now and wants something new to entertain him. i can't believe it's only 10:30 WHAT am i going to do until nap time?!?

p.s. these pinterest posts/ideas that say "entertained my toddler for an hour or two"...i do not understand. I'd be happy for 20 minutes of constant entertainment. and now i am off to search for that.

  1. I'm right there with you :) I don't understand how anyone can come up with ideas to write about AND then write them down every.single.day. My bedtime is embarrassingly early, too, but I still look forward to it!
