i know i shouldn't complain. but...

i hate laundry. everything about it. carrying the ridiculously heavy load down 4 sets of stairs (and yes that might be because i let it get out of control - because i HATE it). just the fact that it's in the one part of the basement that is unfinished is bad enough. it's creepy down there, i always think some mouse/rat/spider is going to show up. although if that were the case, no more laundry until joey got home- so maybe not a horrendous thing. but i digress.... i hate sorting it into piles (and to be honest, 1/2 the time i don't do this. which perhaps is the reason for the guest room sheets that are now shaded in some places with rainbows of pink/red.

i think the most hated part is moving the heavy wet clothes from the washer to the dryer. perhaps this is because i am seriously weak. but it's also because they are always getting caught on the middle thing and catching and it just is obnoxious. can i get an amen? no? well fine then.

our current dryer, since moving, is a piece. it doesn't dry my ridiculously large loads with one cycle. it takes two. and yes, i know that if i do smaller loads (but i mean like peanut sized) it would dry in one...but our old dryer did it, so this should too. and smaller loads just means more laundry (yes i know technically it's the same. but not really.)

changing the lint tray is also a pill. ours makes the lint go EVERYWHERE. i would take a picture of the top of our dryer that is a combination of spilled washing detergent and lint. but it is just seriously embarrassing. oh, and the lint also makes me sneeze. my nose itches right now as i think about it.

OH! on top of the fact that it takes 2 cycles to dry the clothes, the dryer has a super annoying, ridiculously loud buzzing noise it makes 3 TIMES to warn you it's almost done. 3 times? just tell me it's done. ONCE, and BE QUIET.

folding laundry really isn't that bad for me. i typically just do it while watching TV or something so it's pretty mindless. putting it away, well it could be worse (See paragraph about moving from washer to dryer). but i do not like putting all of joey's work shirts away. it they are more complicated than my hanging clothes... and it just takes too long in my opinion - you know, 2 minutes.

while we're on the topic of joey's work shirts, can i just ask WHY do they come with all those tiny, little, really sharp pins. that is a dreaded part of laundry too- new shirts. taking them apart slowly to be sure you don't miss any of the little devil pins. checking it multiple times, then fearing when you reach down into the WET clothes to move them to the dryer (did i mention i hate that?) you fear stabbing your finger on one of those stupid devil pins, getting the clothes all bloody, and having to do it AGAIN! never happened to you? lucky.

i have always hated laundry, but when i was single, in college, other than the fact that i had to share a washer and dryer with 11 other people, it wasn't too bad. (partly because i did my laundry almost never). when i got married, it got loads worse (hahah get it? loads.) joey's clothes add more laundry, they are bigger, heavier, and smellier. but when mr. ben came along laundry got even more of a chore. you think, oh the clothes are so small it's not going to make much a difference. WRONG you are. because if you have a little one like Ben who needed initially like 5 outfits a day because of the massive amounts of spit up he produced (which STINKS), little laundry still makes large piles. but luckily, the little clothes are sooooo cute :)

anyway, i hate laundry. i'd rather clean.... well, let's be honest, i'd rather clean nothing and sit around. i can't really say i'd rather do anything else, except maybe vacuuming because i just hate house chores. call me lazy. and yes i know, if this is my biggest problem, i've got it made. i know there are millions of people who don't have the luxury of cleaning their clothes, much less doing it in a washer and dryer. i know i am blessed. blessed to even HAVE all the clothes to wash. i am spoiled rotten. but. i hate laundry.
