stop growing baby

he's 10 months folks and wow is he a little boy with a big personality. he can yell loudly and madly and throw mini temper tantrums. oh goodness. it begins. but when that isn't happening he is such a happy, playful little man.

some of his new/improved tricks in his ripe old age of 10 months include:

• the "real" crawl. up on all fours now he is getting the hang of crawling and getting faster and faster. he sure is fast when going for something he wants. which, of course, is usually something he can't have (cords, max's water bowl, outlets...)
• pulling up. i am still his favorite thing to crawl all over and pull up on. but he also likes the couch, ottoman, coffee tables, and chairs. his balance is not the best, so some head and face bumps have occurred. poor little guy. (look at those thunder thighs!!)
• new food. not only new food, but food that he was previously thought of having an allergy or intolerance too. he has had yogurt and baby food with milk and corn in it. i am very thankful at the thought of not having to investigate every food i give him to see if it contains these two ingredients. :)
• more teeth. i know. he is about to have a full mouth. when he eats his cheerios he crunches. 8 teeth so far and the expected next ones (which i think are beginning to come in) are the 1st year molars. yikes.
• throwing. his bottle from the highchair, his toys out in front of him, his bath toys from the bath... over and over and over again. it gets old. fast.
• feeding the dog. he has learned to feed the dog. i think max is learning to like the little guy a bit more.

• beginning to understand 'no'. i think he's beginning to get it. he seems to listen when i tell and sign 'no' to him when he goes after max's water bowl. it is a hard thing to try to discern if he is blatantly disobeying me yet or doesn't get it yet. oh discipline.
• fetch. i love this trick. he has a couple balls that he tosses and chases after. then tosses and goes after it again. he'll do this for a bit and keep himself entertained. it's fantastic.

this little guy needs to stop growing. i can't imagine not being able to snuggle and cuddle with him. my heart aches over him becoming a boy...then a pre-teen...then a teen. i am trying to savor each moment with my favorite little guy in the world.
