as we know the 20 week/Gender scan is scheduled for November 19th - this friday. wow. the real point of this scan (ultrasound) isn't to find out the gender. It's really to measure the baby and make sure everything is growing healthily and right. they'll measure everything from the heart to the brain and more. focusing on the fact that it is when we can find out the gender helps me not dwell on the "what ifs".
well this past sunday afternoon i was driving to the mall and thinking about the "what ifs" for the ultrasound on friday. right at the point in time i was beginning to work myself up to be unnecessarily anxious/worried i noticed that the car in front of me license plate was "PS139 13". It took me a second or two to figure out what that meant... Pslam 139: 13. Well, lots of people have bible verses for their license plates and typically the following doesn't happen:
1) I conveniently had a bible next to me in my car.
2) I was at a stoplight.
So, i decided hey, i'm going to see what that verse is... as i opened up the bible and read the verse there was no denying that at that point in time the Lord was speaking directly to me. The verse read:
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
wow. really. right at the exact moment i was starting to worry. i notice the car, in front of me, in all of northern va, on route 50, at a random stoplight, with that verse, of all verses, on it's license plate. coincidence? yea right.
what this says to me isn't a guarantee that everything will be perfect on friday. I hope and pray it is of course. But it says, the Lord is creating this baby, He is knitting this person perfectly as HE wants him/her. He/she is going to be made, just as he/she should be. Again, i am praying and believing that he/she will be healthy and the scan will go great...but regardless, the Lord is in this.
the Lord is in the details of life. every last detail, and every last random minute of your life.

ReplyDeleteNicole- I LOVE this story. Thank you for sharing it- I miss the days of TCS where it seemed like there was always someone to quote encouraging Bible verses whenever you needed it. I know sometimes it seems like there are so many things that could possibly go wrong but just remember that the will of God will never take you somewhere that the grace of God cannot protect you. I am really excited to have found your blog thru Em's and to hear about this exciting time in your life!
