after grabbing breakfast at the hotel (which was good-- including a chocolate croissant yummm) we started to walk towards the eiffel tower. When we turned to see the eiffel tower Katie literally gasped... it was great. :) It was really cool. It was almost a "yes you are in Paris" feeling b/c it was right there and huge. otherwise Paris does feel new yorkish. the landscaping around the eiffel tower wasn't fantastic but it was winter... so my pictures are a little brown, gray, and wintery.
in general there is no landscaping in Paris.. so much so with all the dogs around, they just poop on the sidewalk. seriously. They have no where to go and the entire time i was there i only saw 1 person pick it up... so we had to watch were we walked a lot.
while walking under the eiffel tower people were trying to sell us what looked like eiffel tower key chains, and when they saw an american they called it "bling-bling". it was hilarious- they would just stick it out and say "bling bling?" i loved the misuse of the american slang.
After the eiffel tower we walked to the Champs Elysees and to the Arc de Triomphe. We grabbed lunch off the Champs Elysees at a little french bistro. I got ham and cheese on a french baguette... it came with fries on the side. It was very plain, but the bread was soo good. i mean duh.. FRENCH baguette. i got water with lunch so i was craving a coke and needed caffeine so i figured maybe the McDonalds would have a nice cold, carbonated, soda- WRONG. it was the nastiest soda i had in all of Europe. imagine my disappointment. I know.
After lunch we took a taxi to Notre Dame Cathedral which i think was one of my favorite parts of Paris. It was HUGE and beautiful and a place of worship.... and it really almost made me cry. It was just a gorgeous church made in honor of God... so cool. Also right outside Notre Dame is the "city center" of Paris represented by a stone

We took a taxi back to our hotel to take a little nap and rest before dinner and going out that night. After resting we walked back to the Arc de Triomphe down the Champs Elysees. We walked up the Arc which i think has like 285 steps, and i boy was i tired... apparently i am more out of shape than i thought. ugh
Nevertheless, it was awesome. You could look out and see Paris and the Eiffel Tower all lit up. really the pictures speak for themselves. awesomeness.
We then headed back down the Champs Elysees and stopped at a restaurant that was upstairs and overlooked the street. It was neat. i got spaghetti- and it was good! I know, i can't be too adventurous but it had a french twist and it was really really good. i ate it all. Katie and I also asked for coke with "lots of ice" and we ended up with 3 pieces. oh well.. We also got dessert, a european dessert: Profiteroles. YUM. Again, joey tried to order coffee and ended up with espresso... he did get a starbucks earlier that day were he ordered "American Drip" and got his coffee... but he definitely did not need the espresso since we had to get up the next day early.
It was cold and we were tired and needed to get early the next day for our flight to Prague so we decided to take a taxi... I am glad we're a live. The second we got in he was flying down the roads, around the circles (which do not have lane divides), it was like in the Bourne Identity.. it was definitely 100KM or more down one way tiny alleys. At one point katie screamed b/c she thought a car was going to hit us... We were all holding on to each other in the back... and i was praying i didn't vomit.
and that was it... last day in Paris.
